The city is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west. Sunny Isles Beach is an area of cultural diversity with stores lining Collins Avenue, the main thoroughfare through the city. It is a growing resort area and developers such as Michael Dezer have invested heavily in construction of high-rise hotels and condominiums while licensing the Donald Trump name for some of the buildings for promotional purposes. Sunny Isles Beach has a central location, minutes from Bal Harbour to the south, and Aventura to the north and west.
I like the gay side of the beach - Haulover Beach Park
The Gay Beaches of Miami: A feast of Speedos
Haulover Beach is one of the few beaches in Florida that I know of where it is legal to take off your clothes and soak up the sun and salt water. The 99 acre park straddles State Road A1A, and has many more attractions than just the beach to offer. There are areas to launch and store boats, a major kite flying field, tennis courts, a golf course, pavilions, picnic areas with barbecue grills, restrooms and showers. It is a family oriented park, and you can spend a day at the park and on the beach with granny and the kids and never see a single naked soul.
Often overlooked in favour of Fort Lauderdale's and gay friendly Key West , Miami is one of the more underrated gay vacation destinations in the Sunshine State. With a relaxed live-and-let-live attitude and a devilish twinkle in its eye, Miami is a great place to celebrate your queerdom in all its gay glory. So, slap on the factor 50 and slip into your skimpiest swim trunks — last one in the sea is a banana!
Nestled in Haulover Beach Park between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway, this marina is minutes away from spectacular fishing. Each slip provides access to electricity and water. The dock master building offers marina patrons a laundry room with coin-operated washers and dryers, vending machines, ice, and restrooms with showers.
